Project organisation

The work plan for this project is structured to ensure the best possible cooperation between the project partners. MUJULIMA will combine existing state-of-the-art capabilities of the partners - strong competence from material formulation and development to testing, integration and demonstration - and develop these to a degree where market entry products can be realized by the end-user. The development of complementing topics will be interdependent providing input and/or feedback to each other.

The project structure of MUJULIMA is schematically illustrated in the figure above. The different activities are grouped in work packages (WP) that have topical content, well-defined objectives and logical connections to each other. The work packages have been defined in such a way as to maximize the interaction of partners for close collaboration and to bridge and fully exploit the multidisciplinary nature of the consortium. Each work package will contain risk analysis and a contingency plan.

  • WP1, led by TNO, will handle all the administrative and financial management issues of the overall project.
  • WP2, led by TNO, will define quantitative specifications for the properties of the newly developed materials, concepts and demonstrators together with a focus on cost, life cycle analysis and standardization.
  • WP3, led by TUe, will develop new photoactive, charge extraction and recombination layers for high efficient triple junction solar cells alongside the development of large area printing of multiple junction solar cells.
  • WP4, led by IMEC, will model and develop light management concepts for improved light absorption in multiple junction solar cells.
  • WP5, led by CEA, will focus on outdoor protection of the solar modules together with an in-depth study of mono- and multi-stress conditions for devices.
  • WP6, led by PCAS, will scale up the synthesis of state-of-the-art and newly developed materials from earlier mentioned work packages and will demonstrate large area modules.
  • WP7, led by ECN, will disseminate and exploit the outcomes of the project.
